Adding Windows Vista Fonts In Windows XP & Win2000

If you are bored of the old XP and Win2000 fonts, then here comes Windows Vista to the rescue. It has some cool and sexy fonts like Candara, Consolas, Calibri, Cambria, Constantia and Corbel, etc. Now you can install these in Windows XP and Windows 2000 as well.
Just follow the instructions given below:

1. First go here and download the Microsoft Compatibility pack (MCP). The MCP is a free utility that allows you open, edit, and save documents, workbooks, and presentations in the file formats new to Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007.

2. Save to desired location and install it.

3. That’s it now you’ll have these vista fonts in all office applications including the previous fonts.

1. CachemanXP
This is a must have. A very necessary tool for gamers and graphics professionals. Optimises your windows Ram cache and make everything more faster and responsive. It also recovers memory occupied by previous programs. 2. GetDiz
Go to Options -->Setfont and select ComicSans/ 14 regular,/ yellow color and go to choose color and select Black color. Apply and Exit. Now, it becomes a very healthy replacement for default windows notepad. It can do everything notepad does and has more features. So easy to read and it will open ur .diz/.nfo/.txt files from downloaded torrents without fuss.
It also displays ASCII art correctly which is an added bonus :)

3. StartEd
Is is what its name says. Handy because you will never again open msconfig from run to do startup changes. You can optimize your startup very easily from this software. Remove unnecessary and extra startup entires you don't need. But remember don't remove any entries whose function you don't know, because this may cause your system to become unstable.

Defrag Multiple Hard Drives At Once In Windows XP

As you would know its a painful process to defragment all hard drives at the same time in Windows XP, as the Disk Defragment utility in Windows XP doesn’t have any option to defrag all the drives at once.

But a simple batch file trick can get over this problem and defragment all of the drives, one after the other.

The disk defrag utility in Windows XP can be called from the command line with the following syntax:

Windows Disk Defragmenter

Copyright (c) 2001 Microsoft Corp. and Executive Software International, Inc.

Usage:

defrag [-a] [-f] [-v] [-?]

volume drive letter or mount point (d: or d:volmountpoint)

-a Analyze only

-f Force defragmentation even if free space is low

-v Verbose output

-? Display this help text

To make Windows defrag all the drive at once we need to create file named defrag.bat [you can have any name, even yours :) ] . Now for each hard drive, assign a line to the batch file. For instance, if we want to defragment drives C: , D: , F: and G: we will add these three lines:

defrag c: -f
defrag d: -f
defrag f: -f
defrag g: -f

Now to defrag at once, just either double-click on the batch file or start it from the command line.

How To Make Folders like CON

1) Goto Run

2)Type cmd(if using XP or higher version)

3)In the command prompt write mkdir \\.\c:\con

4) Now check yur c: drive bingooooo ! u got a CON folder there

5) To remove con folder write in command prompt rmdir \\.\c:\con

Note: This trick can be used for making other folders like NUM1,NUM2,LPT1 etc

Other non genuine methods are :- make folder with name CON then hold ALT key and press 255 from NUMPAD.(ALT+255)
